Responsibilities: 

  • Fair and uniform valuing of over 61,000 land parcels and the structures on them for the purpose of real estate taxation.
  • Maintain tax maps for Crawford County parcels
  • Maintain Per Capita rolls

         CRAWFORD COUNTY ASSESSMENT ROLL CERTIFICATION LEGAL NOTICE

This is to serve notice that the 2026-2027 school assessment billing roll has been completed and certified by the Board of Commissioners. It is available for open inspection in the Assessment Office of the Crawford County Courthouse 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday except for holidays.

Annual Appeal Information – When needed, hearings for valuation and exemption appeals are conducted on Thursdays in the Courthouse Assembly Room commencing at 1:00 P.M. unless otherwise stated.  

  • Annual Appeal deadline designated by the County Commissioners- August 1
  • Appeal Fees (hearings will not be scheduled until fee is received)
 
Universal Parcel Identifier (UPI)
 
Homestead/Farmstead (Act 1) – Applications for properties that may be eligible are sent by the School Districts in late December each year for a possible exclusion on the school bill the next August.
  • New enrollment for each year starts January 1.  APPLICATION DEADLINE IS MARCH 1.  Once you are enrolled, you do not need to reapply unless your primary residence has changed.
  • HOMESTEAD-FARMSTEAD REPORT AS OF 4-20-26 – Check this file to see who is enrolled as of April 20
  • Act 1 Application.pdf (Homestead/Farmstead) – mail completed applications to the Assessment Office
  • School districts mail applications to residents who are NOT already enrolled and may qualify for Act 1

Although parking meters are bagged, the public can park on the Diamond until noon. After noon, tickets will be issued and the roads will be blocked off. If there are any issues, please contact the department you are visiting.
