Election Judges, Inspectors & Clerks serve as guardians of Democracy. They are vital to efficient and honest elections. Election Officials proudly conduct elections with accuracy, integrity and dignity. Elections in Crawford County require over 300 Election Officials to work the polls every election. What do Election Officials do?
- Poll workers work for the entire day on Election Day, from before the time the polls open at 7:00 am, until after the polls close at 8:00 pm.
- Help check-in voters, manage the lines, and make sure voters know where to go at each step in the voting process.
- Work together to manage the polling place, keep track of the number of voters, and make sure that the returns are delivered to the county election office at the end of the day.
Who is Eligible?
To be an Election Official, you must:
- Be a Registered Voter in Crawford County
- Attend a two hour training class prior to each election. You are compensated for attending a training class.
What is the time Commitment?
Election Officials work from roughly 6:00 a.m. to approximately 9:00 p.m. You must help set-up supplies and equipment befor the Polls open at 7:00 am and put away supplies and equipment after 8:00 pm when the polls close.
Will I be paid?
Yes! Election Officials are compensated per election:

What kind of training will I receive?
Election Officials attend a 2 hour training class held at the Crawford County Courthouse, Conneaut Lake Borough Building, or the Oil Creek Township Building and are paid $25 for attending as long as they work the Election.
